Background Information
Jireh Doo Foundation (JDF) is a National Non-government organization with over 15 years’ existence and actively intervening in the humanitarian response in the North East and other parts of the country since 2014. JDF works in 5 thematic areas of Gender and Humanitarian response, HIV and Health, Child Development, Research and Information, Single parents, and covers four states of Borno, Gombe, Nasarawa, and Benue.
Jireh Doo Foundations’ humanitarian intervention in the North East of Nigeria spans largely across two-state, Borno and Gombe states, and has been working actively in the sectors of water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food security, and livelihood protection, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Jireh Doo Foundation is seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience working on GBV issues for the implementation of an NCA-funded project, Partnership against gender Based violence in Dikwa and Pulka.

Jireh Doo Foundation is seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience working on GBV issues for the implementation of an NCA-funded project, Partnership against gender Based violence in Dikwa and Pulka.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The GBV Case Worker will be responsible to provide the day-to-day Management of all GBV cases and including the identification, documentation, developing case plans, and follow-up.
- GBV Case Worker will liaise directly with other service providers working within the LGA and communities where the project is implemented and facilitate referrals to other service providers (health including Mental health, Shelter, NFIs and /or legal providers, etc.)
- Ensures that Survivor Centered Approach Guiding principles maintained and enforced while working with survivors including in safe spaces for women and girls.
- Facilitate the setting up of an information desk at the women and girls center where adolescents and women of reproductive age can access Sexual Reproductive Health information.
- Contribute within the women and girls center to the identification of at-risk girls, boys, and women and ensure proper documentation
- Support GBV at-risk individuals or survivors by referring them when necessary
- and in respect of their consent to other service providers (Health, legal counseling, shelter, livelihoods or mental health, etc.)
- Provide direct support and care for vulnerable women and girls (including
- survivors of gender-based violence) including basic information counseling and
- Case management: Assessment of survivor needs, developing an action plan, implementing the plan, follow-up, and case closure processes in line with the GBV case management standard operating procedure and IASC guidelines on case management (SOP).
- Provide direct age-appropriate support and care to vulnerable adolescent and young women (including survivors of GBV) that includes counseling and case management for under 18 years’ survivors in line with case management: Best Interest Determination (BID), age-appropriate engagement, and decision making by a survivor
- Ensure Do No Harm analysis is carried out and the humanitarian principles are adhered to.
Essential
- A University degree or its equivalent in social sciences, guidance, and counseling or relevant fields.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with vulnerable communities, basic needs and protection programming experience, and/or advocacy programs.
- Professional training in Gender-based violence.
- Experience in protection interventions in line with humanitarian principles and guidelines
- Experience in working with Non‐Governmental organizations.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness
- Computer skills.
- Good self-organization and basic management skills.
- Knowledge of the local languages Kanuri and Hausa
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Female candidates are preferred.
- Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation and UN-funded projects desired.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Advanced computer skills, including the ability to type quickly and to use Microsoft Office products, email, and the internet.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive issues or projects and use judgment to execute duties and responsibilities.
- Sensitive to cultural differences and an understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infections subcontractors, and recipients of assistance.
- Fluency in English and Hausa (written & spoken).
- Knowledge of health programs.
