Salary: up to INR 30,000/-

Job Overview:
As a Proofreader, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing written materials for grammatical, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and typographical errors. You will work closely with editors, writers, and other team members to ensure that content is polished and error-free before it is published, whether in print or online. Your role is vital in maintaining the quality and professionalism of our publications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Proofreading: Review manuscripts, articles, and other content to identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
2. Style Consistency: Ensure adherence to the company's or client's style guide (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.).
3. Fact-checking: Verify factual accuracy of names, dates, and other essential details as needed.
4. Layout Review: Check the accuracy of the final layout, including margins, font consistency, line spacing, and overall format, ensuring that all design elements meet publishing standards.
5. Cross-referencing: Ensure consistency of content between headings, footnotes, citations, and the overall text.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with authors, editors, and designers to clarify any uncertainties in the text and resolve issues.
7. Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to writers and editors on repetitive or significant errors to improve the writing process.
8. Version Control: Track changes and maintain version control of documents to ensure that updates are reflected correctly.
9. Deadlines: Meet tight publishing deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
11. Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style).
12. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
13. Proficiency with proofreading tools and software (e.g., MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Grammarly).
