About the Role
We’re searching for a refined and minimalistic, Graphic Designer with a keen eye for typography, photography, and design principles to elevate and evolve MICHI’s brand aesthetic. You’ll be responsible for creating captivating visual content that tells the MICHI story and strengthens our connection with customers.

This role involves working closely with the Marketing team and Creative Director to drive brand awareness and conversion through exceptional layouts, packaging, photo and video assets, and branding materials. You’ll also be responsible for photo selects and communication with photo retouchers and video editors to ensure impeccable visual quality across all platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Brand Storytelling: Visually tell the MICHI brand story, including brand purpose, values, and the unique story of each collection.
  • Design Development: Evolve and refine the brand identity, media kits, packaging, and other branding materials, while honoring MICHI’s history and loyal customer base.
  • Website Content: Design homepage banners, category pages, promotional graphics, and extended website features, such as creative “About” pages or visual size guides.
  • Photoshoots & Video: Collaborate on planning and executing photoshoots and videos, making selects, and working closely with freelance photo retouchers and video editors to ensure flawless results.
  • Email Campaigns: Create clean, impactful email campaigns aligned with best practices to drive engagement and retention.
  • Social Media: Help craft engaging social content, including photos, videos, gifs, and social graphics, to enhance brand visibility and community engagement.
  • Templates & Guidelines: Develop templates and branding guidelines to support internal efficiency across all communication channels.
  • Printed Collateral: Design quarterly lookbooks and other printed materials to communicate MICHI’s identity to customers and stakeholders.
  • Content Calendar: Maintain a 3–6 month content calendar, attending planning meetings and staying up to date with shifting priorities.
  • Image Editing: Retouch, recolor, edit, and crop images for one-off projects and oversee larger editing jobs with freelance retouchers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with web developers and marketing teams to ensure a seamless execution of designs into working consumer experiences.
  • Quality Control: Uphold high standards of quality and consistency, ensuring that every detail aligns with the brand’s vision.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Design Expertise: Exceptional graphic design, typography, and layout skills with a high level of taste and attention to detail.
  • Experience: 2-3+ years of graphic design experience in a branding-focused role.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Photography & Video: A great eye for selecting and enhancing photography and video, with experience directing edits and retouching.
  • Creativity: Highly innovative with a talent for translating ideas into impactful visuals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to articulate concepts effectively.
  • Time Management: Skilled in handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Reliable, flexible, and able to pivot as priorities shift.
